Matt & Justine are Married – Hessenland Country Inn

Matt and Justine had a gorgeous wedding the first Saturday in June.  Simple, classy and a wonderful celebration of two people in love.  If you like to see their slideshow you can do so by clicking here.. or download it free from my itunes store. My day started out in Bayfield with Matt & the guys… who after several attempts managed to get the perfect knot into everyone’s tie.

Next I headed to Grand Bend to catch up with Justine and the girls.  Justine’s beautiful gown was from Nicholas & Elizabeth’s bridal in London.  Really lovely.

Her gorgeous bouquet of peonies and roses was from Village Vines in Exeter.  It smelled amazing!  So pretty.

The we were off to Hessenland for the ceremony and reception.  I absolutely love this shot of Matt and Justine when the first see each other as her Dad gives her away.

Wayne from Kettle Creek Weddings did a wonderful job of their ceremony… and then we headed off for some photos.

Then it was time for a party!

Justine and Matt you had a wonderful wedding!  I wish you a lifetime of happiness!!  Cheers, Sandra!

Brian & Natalie – Married!

Friday evening I had the privilege of capturing Natalie & Brian exchange their wedding vows at Hessenland. ?Natalie is an amazing local florist who does some of the most creative work I have ever seen. ?She is very hip and has an amazing eye, so I was very flattered when she asked me to capture this big day for them. ? I’ve gotten to know Nat fairly well over the last few years and she is incredibly ambitious and hard working…. which was very evident when you say the amount of time and energy she put into decorating for her own wedding. ?It was by far and away the most beautiful hall I have seen. ?You can check out Natalie’s website at www.villagevinesflorists.com. ?As always Wilma & Tara at Bridal Elegance did a fabulous job of finding a dress that was perfect for the bride. ?Here are a few of my favourite photos – you can see the slideshow here, or download it free in itunes and watch it on your ipod!

Before and After

Tonight I’m working getting ready to order a beautiful big canvas of one of my very favourite images from last wedding season. I love love love this photo of Rob & Janet on the rocks by the beach in Goderich. You have to know a bit of the story to appreciate it. We shot Rob & Janet’s engagement photos on the dreariest rainiest day last summer. Janet was working and living a distance away so coordinating our schedules was tricky. I know she was really disappointed that we didn’t get sunset photos that day, but it simply wasn’t in the cards. When the day of their wedding came it was mostly overcast and cloudy – it tried to rain a few times, but never really managed to… and did I mention it was cold and windy. This was one of our last photos of the day and it was so cold down by the water that we decided that just Rob & Janet would venture out and left the wedding party waiting in the warm comfy vehicles. Janet was a trouper. As you can see by her skirt, it was REALLY windy. I knew when I shot it that it was an awesome image, but it wasn’t until I got to editing that I really fell in love with it. I consider this one of the nicest presents I’ve gotten… which may seem a little strange, but Rob & Janet were married on my birthday! Here’s the shot straight out of camera

Here’s the image after an exposure and colour correction. This is the fie that was on their copyright free DVD of images.

And this is the file after it’s final touch up’s, ready to go to the gallery and be made into a beautiful wall canvas. I can’t wait to see the finished product!!

I remember telling Janet at the time of their engagement shoot that we would have better luck with the weather the day of their wedding, and judging by this image, I’d say I hit the nail on the head. I’ll definitely post some photos of the canvas once I have it.

I was so excited to shoot Darryl & Ashley’s photos on the weekend.? It’s been over a month since a shot a wedding so it was a great time to gather some new ideas and fresh energy.? They were all great sports about trudging through the knee deep snow and FREEZING while we took a few photos.? Ashley’s?parents have such a cool house.??Her dad has been very busy for the last year renovating and restoring their home and?her mom has?a really great decorating sense?to go with it. ?I just loved the colours in the rooms and the fact that the vintage wall paper (which I LOVE) is still in the front entrance.? It made for an?awesome day of shooting!??

As I was skipping through the images trying to pick out my favourites for the blog entry I realized that I quickly have well over 30 photos selected to be my blog photos…. just a few too many, so I’ve parred it down for today.?Here’s a handful for you and the rest will be in the slideshow tomorrow sometime!? Enjoy!

Mark & Sarah – Married!

Well Saturday couldn’t have been a more beautiful day for an outdoor wedding!? Sarah’s parent’s did an excellent job of getting their garden’s and yard ready to host their daughter’s wedding.? Everything was just fabulous.? The tractor you’ll see in the photos is Mark’s grandpa’s.? It held special sentiment as Mark’s grandpa passed away only a few months ago.? It was a great way to have a bit of him along for the festivities.? I always love it when couples find a way to make their wedding their own and incorporate things that are important to them…. even if they are a little unconventional.?

Thanks Mark & Sarah for inviting Tricia & I along to capture the day and join in the fun!!? Click here to start the slideshow!
