Iain & Joanne – Married!

Saturday I started off my 2010 wedding season with Joanne & Iain’s wedding.  It was neat when I met them early this year and had a chance to talk about what they wanted their wedding to be.  In Iain’s words, it will be just like they are – and he couldn’t have been more accurate as there was a reflection of each of them scattered all throughout their day.  Joanne is definitely a details person so much of the handy work could be attributed to her amazing skills, but Iain’s hand was in much of it as well, including the beautiful lanterns that helped to light their ceremony amphitheater.  Luckily they had planned for indoor photos, as the weather was anything but pleasant.  There was some rather amazing window light that I just fell in love with and I think when you check the images you’ll understand why.  A few of my favourites are in this blog post, but to see the complete story you can click here to watch a slideshow.  You can also download a free itune’s version if you’d like to have it on your iPod – just search for “Sandra Regier” in the itunes store.

Congratulations Iain & Joanne.  I hope you have a wonderful time honeymooning in NYC!

Darrell & Jen – Engaged!

Jen had emailed me back in December to see about getting some engagement photos in the snow.  We set a date for early January and boy oh boy snow it did…. snow and wind and basically an all out blizzard.  We decided to reschedule for February…. hoping for snow, but not quite that much snow.   Mother Nature decided yet again to drop down lots of white stuff, but the wind was a bit more friendly so we decided to give it a shot.  It was so much fun (and a bit cold I might add)!  We met up at one of my favourite country locations – my in-laws farm – and tromped around to capture these.  Meet Jen & Darrell

When I started editing through there photos I first thought the next photo was a mistake.  With all those flurries in the air, my autofocus lens was having a hard time keeping it’s focus on Jen & Darrell…. but after looking again I decided I quite liked this “mistake”.

Love this shot!  Jen has such a great smile!

I hope you had a fabulous Valentine’s date after our shoot!  It was so much fun to work with both of you!  So looking forward to your wedding at Hessenland in July when the temperatures will be a lot more friendly!

Dan & Elisha – Engaged

It was great to meet up with Dan & Elisha a couple weeks ago to take their engagement photos.  I always find outdoor shoots in the winter both a delight and a challenge.  The light is so different this time of year, and can actually be a lot brighter than in the summer due to the reflections off the snow, but I love the challenge of something different!  Not too many people are willing to brave the elements for an outdoor winter shoot, but they sure are fun!  At any rate…. we met at Elisha’s parent’s home which is also where their wedding will take place this coming summer.  It is really a neat property and I can’t wait to see how their wedding day turns out, and to see how different everything looks when it is green instead of white.  We started out by walking out to the location where their cermony is going to take place.  It’s at an old barn foundation.  Really cool.

There is also a stream and a bridge and all sorts of cool spots!  Love this location!

And of course our shoot wouldn’t have been complete without including Kyra in a few!  She is their adorable little girl and I absolutely fell in love with her. Thanks so much for a fun afternoon Dan, Elisha & Kyra!  I can’t wait to see you all again soon!

Gillian Loves Her Dress!

I’m finally just about caught up on my editing!!  I was thrilled when Gillian emailed me to see if we could do a “Trash The Dress” session this fall.  They were married the first weekend in October, and much to Gill’s dissappointment the leaves were almost completely green.  Tyler’s parents have a beautiful property and so I was more than happy to make a trip back to photograph them in the beauty of fall.  Here are a few of my favourite shots.  I’m not usually one for editing things into a sepia sort of tone, but I thought the fall colours really lended themselves to it! What do you think?

Emily Loves Her Dress

This was such a fun shoot!  Emily was totally into the “Love Your Dress” session and really couldn’t wait to get into the ocean.  Kevin was such a good sport and I believe he had a whole lot of fun too.  Here are some of my favourite shots from our session in Cuba!  The photos certainly make me miss the beach.  Enjoy.

Emily’s Mom

As I sat today editing Kevin & Emily’s wedding photos I was struck by two imparticular of Emily’s Mom.  I love the look of love and admiration on her face as she sees her little girl as a beautiful bride.
