It was more than a year ago when I met with Justin & Amy and they asked me to capture their wedding. It seemed like it was so far away, and now here it is in just a few short weeks! We decided to meet up in Goderich. Amy and I had chatted about a few different ideas before we got together. Amy I hoped I managed to capture things just the way you wanted. I think you both look great and I can’t wait to work with you again soon!

Brad & Meredith – Engaged
I love love love engagement sessions. They are such a great thing for both me and couple to get to know one another and have some fun taking photos. I find it makes the wedding day run so much smoother when the bride and groom know what to expect and realize (especially for the groom) that photos can be fun. It should never be a painful thing to get your photo taken! Enough of of my rant…. this past weekend I had so much fun hanging out in Goderich with Brad & Meredith. They are such a great couple. The started dating way back in grade 10 and now that they are almost done University they are starting to plan the next stage of their life together. Brad will be finishing up school the week before they get married next August so there is a lot of ground to cover yet, but I know that these two will get through it no problem!
We met in Goderich at the Library. Goderich has some wonderful old buildings, but the library is certainly one of my favourties.
I love how Meredith’s face lights up! So pretty!
We also made a quick stop at one of the old train stations in town.
And then we headed down to the beach for a few shots as well.
All in all it made for a really fun afternoon! Congrats Meredith & Brad – I can’t wait to shoot your wedding next summer!
Darrell & Jen – Engaged!
Jen had emailed me back in December to see about getting some engagement photos in the snow. We set a date for early January and boy oh boy snow it did…. snow and wind and basically an all out blizzard. We decided to reschedule for February…. hoping for snow, but not quite that much snow. Mother Nature decided yet again to drop down lots of white stuff, but the wind was a bit more friendly so we decided to give it a shot. It was so much fun (and a bit cold I might add)! We met up at one of my favourite country locations – my in-laws farm – and tromped around to capture these. Meet Jen & Darrell
When I started editing through there photos I first thought the next photo was a mistake. With all those flurries in the air, my autofocus lens was having a hard time keeping it’s focus on Jen & Darrell…. but after looking again I decided I quite liked this “mistake”.
Love this shot! Jen has such a great smile!

I hope you had a fabulous Valentine’s date after our shoot! It was so much fun to work with both of you! So looking forward to your wedding at Hessenland in July when the temperatures will be a lot more friendly!
Dan & Elisha – Engaged
It was great to meet up with Dan & Elisha a couple weeks ago to take their engagement photos. I always find outdoor shoots in the winter both a delight and a challenge. The light is so different this time of year, and can actually be a lot brighter than in the summer due to the reflections off the snow, but I love the challenge of something different! Not too many people are willing to brave the elements for an outdoor winter shoot, but they sure are fun! At any rate…. we met at Elisha’s parent’s home which is also where their wedding will take place this coming summer. It is really a neat property and I can’t wait to see how their wedding day turns out, and to see how different everything looks when it is green instead of white. We started out by walking out to the location where their cermony is going to take place. It’s at an old barn foundation. Really cool.
There is also a stream and a bridge and all sorts of cool spots! Love this location!
And of course our shoot wouldn’t have been complete without including Kyra in a few! She is their adorable little girl and I absolutely fell in love with her.
Thanks so much for a fun afternoon Dan, Elisha & Kyra! I can’t wait to see you all again soon!
Baby Derk!
I’m certain that Alicia and Trevor agree that this little sweet heart was well worth waiting the extra 11 days for! Derk was just 9 days old when he came to the studio for his first photo shoot. Usually babies that are less than 10 days old are pretty sleepy….. but I think someone forgot to tell Derk as sleeping was really not on his agenda. I think we did get some lovely photos of him. Such a tiny little man.

I’ve known Sofie’s mom for years so it was really neat to get to meet her little bundle of joy! Sofie was just about 8 weeks old when she came for her first portrait session. Here are a few of my favourites. I’m really looking f0rward to all the watch me grow sessions. I can’t wait to see all the babies growing and changing!
