What a difference a year makes!! I couldn’t resist posting these two photos side by side. I knew Iain had changed a lot .. going from a newborn into a toddler, but it’s also remarkable to see how much his big sister Addison has grown up. What a beautiful family! I love taking photos of families having fun and Jeff & Caroline certainly love playing with their kids. Dan & Elisha – Engaged

It was great to meet up with Dan & Elisha a couple weeks ago to take their engagement photos. I always find outdoor shoots in the winter both a delight and a challenge. The light is so different this time of year, and can actually be a lot brighter than in the summer due to the reflections off the snow, but I love the challenge of something different! Not too many people are willing to brave the elements for an outdoor winter shoot, but they sure are fun! At any rate…. we met at Elisha’s parent’s home which is also where their wedding will take place this coming summer. It is really a neat property and I can’t wait to see how their wedding day turns out, and to see how different everything looks when it is green instead of white. We started out by walking out to the location where their cermony is going to take place. It’s at an old barn foundation. Really cool.

There is also a stream and a bridge and all sorts of cool spots! Love this location!

And of course our shoot wouldn’t have been complete without including Kyra in a few! She is their adorable little girl and I absolutely fell in love with her.Thanks so much for a fun afternoon Dan, Elisha & Kyra! I can’t wait to see you all again soon!

Alicia & Trevor – Waiting for a baby!

Alicia was a week overdue when she called to see about a maternity session. I was so excited and spent the next two days praying she wouldn’t go into labour before our session. Thank goodness she arrived at my door a full nine days overdue and ready for some photos. Two days later they welcomed Derk into their family. I can’t wait to meet their lovely little son a little later this morning! I must say her positive outlook and patience really impressed me. I was overdue with 4 out of my 5 pregnancies, and I hardly think I was nearly as content as a Alicia… in fact I was probably what one would call a little grumpy. Congrats Alicia & Trevor!!

Pat & Cheryl – Married!

I almost cried…. it was their first dance – and when Etta Jone’s started singing “At Last” and they began their dance my heart just melted.? It was perfect!? …. Sigh

The girls had fabulous purple dresses!? A colour I’ve hardly seen this year but I LOVE!

Yes it’s a Harley… it’s Pat’s Harley and let me tell you these two take biking seriously!? They have been to both the West coast and the East coast of Canada on this beauty and they LOVED it!? Cheryl you get some serious points in my book!? That is a LONG way to drive on the back of a bike!

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Laffin!? I hope you have a fabulous time honeymooning in Italy!

It’s amazing to me how the time slips away. ?One day turns into the next and all of a sudden you realize that the year is almost 3/4 over. ?Where does the time go? ?I thought I should post some updates for my blog readers as I know not all of you keep track of me via twitter or facebook, and even if you do I’m not sure exactly how much I have keep everyone up to date. ?So HERE’S THE SCOOP!

1st off…..

I’ve moved! ?My business is now located at 391 Main Street in Exeter. ?I’m going to be having a Grand Opening on Friday November 13th – so save the date. ?More details will follow as it gets closer. ?In the meantime if you are in Exeter, stop by, I’d love to show you around! ?I have a fabulous space and I think my clients are really going to like it… I know I do!!

If you do follow me on facebook or twitter you may have noticed that I’ve been doing some family photo shoots… and you are probably wondering what is up as I had been on a weddings only policy. ?Well part of the deal is that I had some outstanding gift certificates I had to honour. ?The other part is that I was finding that I really miss my family work. ?There is nothing like taking a newborn babies photos. ?A few weeks ago I took this photo of baby Lauren, and let me tell you I am in love…..

I’m really hoping to go more family photos… especially maternity and newborns. ?In order to maintain my sanity I have decided that portrait sessions are going to be available only Monday thru Friday. ?I have a wedding almost every Saturday and Sunday’s are going to be my day with my family. ? I’m looking forward to launching a “Watch Me Grow” program with my Grand Opening in November so check back for details.

In the meantime thanks for reading and I will try to keep you updated more often this fall as I get ready to unveil my studio to the world … or atleast Huron County

As a side note, I’m also going to be updating my website and blog over the next couple weeks so if you stop by to read the latest, I may be offline for a little while. ?No worries, I’ll be back soon with a fresh new look!

Ian & Erin – Married!

Ian & Erin were married on May 31st at Hessenland.? It was great to see them both again and such a pleasure to work with them.? The day was a bit chilly but the sun was bright and warm, and a trip to the beach was definitely in order!? Here are a few shots of their day.? Shannon & Andrew – Engaged!

Last week – inspite of some nasty looking clouds – I was thrilled to capture Shannon & Andrew’s engagement photos.? Our chances to reschedule if it rained were pretty much nil as Andrew is station with the Armed Forces out of province.? We had our umbrella’s along just incase and thankfully didn’t need them.? It was great to see Shannon & Andrew enjoying their time together.? Andrew keep Shannon laughing during our entire session.? I loved it when he told me how they had met in highschool…. he figured his best chance in class ( I think Biology?) – was to sit in between the two smartest girls in class…. Shannon happened to be the prettiest as well!? Thanks for the fun time guys!? Can’t wait for your wedding in September!

Derreck & Jenny

Saturday was a great day for Jenny & Derreck’s wedding. ?They started their day off together with a “first glance” at Jenny’s family home. ?It was a great chance to get over those nervous jitters and spend some time just enjoying each other on their wedding day. ?Thankfully we also managed to have all the photos done before the rain hit… a definite plus in my books. ?I’m posting a handful of my favourites from their day, but you can see more here by watching their slideshow.
