Tulie

I had so much fun working with Tulie.  We first met a couple years ago when I played her Wicked Step-Mother in a community drama production.  She was great to work with then and even more fun to photograph in my studio.  Tulie is working at pursuing a career in theatre and needed some headshots taken.  It was great to take some photos that really show off her good looks and her fabulous personality!  We started off with the plain and simple headshot and worked our way up to something a little more creative.

Gillian Loves Her Dress!

I’m finally just about caught up on my editing!!  I was thrilled when Gillian emailed me to see if we could do a “Trash The Dress” session this fall.  They were married the first weekend in October, and much to Gill’s dissappointment the leaves were almost completely green.  Tyler’s parents have a beautiful property and so I was more than happy to make a trip back to photograph them in the beauty of fall.  Here are a few of my favourite shots.  I’m not usually one for editing things into a sepia sort of tone, but I thought the fall colours really lended themselves to it! What do you think?

Mikayla’s Smiling Eyes

You may remember Mikayla from her previous Smiling eyes session back in May 2008.  If you would like more information about the Smiling Eyes program check out our website by clicking here.

mikayla01She is the most amazing little girl with such an incredible spirit.  She is a beautiful little 3 year old now and before too long will also be a big sister!  Congrats Katie, Mike & Mikayla!!  Here are a few shots from our session this fall.

012After all the chemo Mikayla’s had she’s finally got enough hair to show off some barettes!  Isn’t she a doll!  I wanted to pick her up and give her a big hug the whole time we were together.

My little girl with a great big heart….

Last week we were talking about Christmas shopping and I asked the kids to each make me a list of their favourite items.  Rachael came to me afterward and said…. “Mom, I really don’t need anything this Christmas, so maybe instead you could sponsor a needy family or something instead.” – my heart melted.  My 12 year old girl who would love a camera or new clothes really felt that the needs of others were probably more important.  We chatted and I have something in mind for her (don’t want to spoil the surprise) – but she also did come up with a small list of things she would like under the tree as well.   This blog post goes out with kudos to my “Fred” as we loving call her!  This photo is from her birthday this past January…. we love you Fred!!freddy

Sophie is 2!

It was great to meet little Sophie and take some photos of her.  I grew up with her Dad and shared lots of highschool classes with her Mom so it was really neat to see their little girl.  Sophie was a great sport and for the record has quite a vocabulary for only being 2!  Here are two of my favourites from her session.  I can’t wait to meet her baby brother or sister this spring!

Van Aaken Family Photos

Fresh off the editing desk here are some photos of the Van Aaaken family.  I’ve know Leigh Anne since forever I think.  She went to grade school and highschool with my brother.  Her boys are in classes with my kids and we’ve been on too many committee’s together to count.  I was so glad we managed to find a time to take some photos of their family this fall.  Here are a few of my favourites.  I love the photos of the boys being boys!
