Our boys have been sharing a double bed for over a year and the last little while they’ve been bugging for their own beds.? We managed to score a handme-down set of them last week so on Friday we moved the boys into their “new” beds.? On Saturday night I went into their room after they were sleeping to make sure they were covered up and I couldn’t find Vic…..? I think this photo pretty much sums up why I think brothers are awesome!

Awesome Thing #26 – Our parish priest Fr. Peter Keller
I intentionally have been avoiding mentioning individual “people” as awesome, as I have too many awesome people in my life to pick just 30, but today I decided to make an exception. ?Today, on Easter Sunday, I wanted to blog about our parish priest, Fr. Peter Keller. ?He is an awesome man of God with a servant heart that is full of love, compassion and great sense of humour. ? He has an incredible love to serve the youth and to help foster in them a love for God that will carry them through their entire life. ?This morning he was on his 6th Easter service in 4 days and he was truly excited to be with us to celebrate Easter…. which is one more reason why today I had to share how awesome I think Fr. Peter is!
Happy Easter to all of you!
Awesome Thing #25 – Holidays
Love love love spending time with the kids and not worrying about all the “things” to be done.? Yesterday which was Good Friday was like a breath of fresh air.? Our family has a no TV or computer rule for Good Friday.? It’s an attempt for us to think about what the holiday is really about and spend sometime together.? It was great to see the kids actually playing together.? They had a really fun time creating domino tracks.? Tonight we had an egg dying and cookie icing party…. and right now I’m missing out on family movie night… so I’m going to end here by sharing a few photos of our AWESOME holiday weekend!!

So I hope you can forgive me skipping an awesome day …. again.? The scoop is that yesterday I was very busy at a workshop in Burlington with California photographer [b] ecker . It was a great day of learning and making great new connections.? I could easily spend this blog post telling you about how great a photographer [b]ecker is,? because he is…. I think if you follow the link on his name you’ll soon figure that out for yourself.? But I think the best part about [b]ecker is that he totally believes in giving back to the photographic community and helping everyone out that he can.? He’s developed this great community called the [b] school – which is definitely worth checking out if you are professional photographer.? I think he’s got some great advice… whether you like it or not, and I really respect that.? Of course he doesn’t show up for a workshop out of the goodness of his heart…. everyone needs to make a living….. but the point instead is that he’s willing to put himself out there, go the extra mile and show up… and that in my opinion is what makes him awesome…. or as he would say…. super [b]
Becker in action shooting the super cute couple of Justin & Melanie Driedger who were attending the workshop and didn’t know there were going to be our models until minutes before. Fabulous couple!
Becker took headshots of all of us.? This is him shooting Krista.
And last but not least…. a shot I totally stole off of Krista’s site.? Hope you don’t mind friend, just couldn’t resist!!
I guess the point is that no matter what you are doing… whatever career path you have chosen there are always new people coming up in the wings behind you…. find someone who is and encourage them!? We can all use a word of affirmation and kindness….. trust me it will feel awesome when you do!
Awesome Thing #23 – Being busy
Last week (when I skipped a couple days) – my good cousin and friend Anita challenged me to blog about the awesomeness of being busy. ?I have to tell you, I had a hard time with this one. ?Many days I just wish life could be a little simpler and that life wouldn’t be so busy. ?But the truth is it is all the blessings in my life that make it so busy. ?I can’t say I’d give up any of the awesome things in my life just for a little more?solitude. ?So here’s to Anita for helping me to see that the busy-ness really is an awesome thing!
Awesome Thing #22 – Seeing someone else reach their goals
Last night I had the neat opportunity to go to a CD release for Lance Bedard.? I’ve known Lance since he was in grade school.? He’s been writing and playing music for pretty much his entire life I think, so it was really cool to see the Gable’s in Grand Bend packed full for his CD release.? I know he was on a complete high.? Here a few photos I snapped.? The light was really hard to work with, but I think these turned out okay.
[gallery size="full" columns="1"]Congrats on a great CD and a great night Lance!? Can’t wait to see where the future will take you!
