Eamon & Melissa – Engaged!

I was so glad to be able to catch up with Eamon & Melissa this past weekend to capture their engagement photos. ? It worked out to be great timing as they were in the area visiting Eamon’s family and celebrating Christmas… which may seem a little odd for most of us who have long packed away all our Christmas decorations, but this was the first chance they had. ? Eamon is a Canadian Soldier serving in Afganistan and was able to come home for a 3 week leave in January, so for Melissa, Eamon and the rest of their families Christmas was in January this year! ?It was so much fun to work with both of them! ?I really love shooting different locations and backdrops, but with being in a small community, it sometimes feels like there aren’t as many different spots out there. ?The truth of it is however, that you have to look a little outside your box and find the beauty in any location….. sometimes, it’s just easier than others.??I met up with Eamon & Melissa?in Exeter to shoot their photos, and for those of you who are local, I challenge you to take a look at them and tell me where the first one is taken.? I’m sure you’ve seen this building before!

Congrats to both of you!? You are wonderful couple!? Eamon I wish you a safe journey back to Afganistan and back!? I can’t wait to see you both again this September!

Andy’s Smiling Eyes

So I know I blogged a while ago that I’m not personally shooting family photos for the next year… which is true – with the exception of my Smiling Eyes photo shoots. ?For those of you unfamiliar with Smiling Eyes you can click here to get the scoop.

So last weekend I met up with the Deputter family on a very chilly day in Bayfield to shoot a few photos of Andy & his family. ?It turns out I went to highschool with Andy’s son – who shares his name and his birthday, which just happened to be the day we were together for their photo shoot. ?Here are a few of my favourite photos from our session. ?I wish the entire Deputter family all the best as they continue this journey together!

Alex & Carol Anne – Married!!!

When I first met Alex and Carol Anne over a year ago we began talking about their plans.? Carol Anne’s eyes lit up as she talked about her winter wonderland wedding.? This girl loves the snow and all things winter!? She and Alex figured they’d be guaranteed a white wedding in the middle of January…. and boy did they hit that nail on the head.? This past Saturday it snowed, and snowed and then snowed some more.? We started the day off at Carol Anne’s home farm near Hensall and headed to Goderich for the ceremony before settling in for a wonderful and cozy evening at the beautiful Ben Miller Inn.? Here are a few shots of the day.? You can also click here to start the slideshow!? You can’t help but notice that it’s really snowing in some of the shots – when I left the dinner reception there was 4 inches of fresh snow on my van…. incredible!
